  • Technical Data: IP address, device identifiers, and crash logs for app performance and security monitoring.

Note on Location Data: GARDMEI does not collect, monitor, or track your precise or approximate location.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data strictly for functional purposes. We do not track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising. The data is used to:

  • Verify device ownership and facilitate legal transfer documentation.
  • Process service fees for physical device inspection and handover facilitation.
  • Transactional Notifications: Send automated updates via SMS and the WhatsApp Business API regarding your device status, ownership transfer alerts, and account security.
  • Prevent fraud and maintain a secure "device authority" database.
  • Manage your account and subscription status.

3. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell your personal data. Sharing occurs only in the following contexts:

  • Between Users: During an "Ownership Transfer," your name and verification status are shared with the transacting party to complete legal records.
  • Service Providers: We share your mobile number with Meta (WhatsApp) and SMS gateways to deliver critical transactional notifications. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Payment Processors: We use Razorpay for secure payment of physical service fees.
  • Legal Necessity: If required by Indian law (e.g., Information Technology Act) or valid court orders regarding stolen property.

4. DATA SECURITY

We implement industry-standard security protocols:

  • Encryption: Sensitive data is protected using RSA-AES hybrid encryption and transmitted via HTTPS/TLS.

  • Consent: By registering with your mobile number, you provide explicit consent to receive transactional notifications. We do not send marketing or promotional messages via WhatsApp without additional specific consent.
  • Opt-Out: You can opt-out of WhatsApp communications at any time by:
    • Replying "STOP" to any WhatsApp message received from us.
    • Adjusting your notification preferences within the Gardmei App settings.

6. YOUR RIGHTS AND APPLE COMPLIANCE

  • App Tracking Transparency (ATT): GARDMEI does not engage in "Tracking" as defined by Apple. We do not link your data with third-party data for marketing; therefore, we do not request ATT permission.
  • Multi-Platform Services: In compliance with Apple’s guidelines, subscriptions purchased on our website (www.gardmei.com) are accessible within the app.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request to delete your account. Note that certain transaction records may be retained for legal compliance and anti-fraud purposes.

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as required by Indian law to resolve potential future ownership disputes regarding registered devices.
